artist biography
Bror Edvin Nilsson was a Swedish painter born on May 18, 1907.
Nilsson was originally self taught as an artist but then studied painting in 1925 and 1926 at the Carin Tham målskola in Lund. He exhibited in shows in the Östgöta konstförening (Art Association) in 1955 and 1956, in the artist exhibition in Linköping in Östergötland in 1956 and at the City Museum in Linköping. Nilsson painted abstracts and small simplified landscapes from Skåne and Östgötas. He also worked with a wax painting technique he developed himself. In addition to paintings he produced some murals at Folkets Hus (1953) in Linköping, Sweden (designed by architects Sven Markelius and Bengt Lindroos - image of the exterior presented here).
