artist biography
Carl Magnus Lindqvist was born in 1884 in Umeå. He was a Swedish artist and illustrator.
Lindqvist studied at the Konstakademien (The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts) in Stockholm , as well as in Paris and Berlin. He is best known for his portraits, landscapes with farmhouses and beach scenes. He also produced illustrations for books. He also created public art including decorative work at the Sollentuna Chapel, Björksele Church, Vännäs Church hall and the burial chapel in Sollentuna plus murals in Byske church.
His work is represented at National Museum in Stockholm, as well as in most of the northern city museums in Sweden.
Lindqvist passed away in 1977.
