artist biography
Knud Laursen was born on 23 April 1924 in Herning, Denmark. He studied under fellow Danish artists Ib Schmedes and Harald W. Lauesen in 1943, and under Børge L. Knudsen 1944-45.
Best known for his tightly composed simple, figurative and landscape compositions whose colour surfaces structure the motifs. Laursen works with painting, graphics and ceramics.
