artist biography
Svend Sinding Christensen was born on 22 April, 1898 in Copenhagen. He was a Danish painter.

Christensen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and a was pupil of Danish artist Ejner Nielsen (1876-1952). He took study trip to Spain, France and Algiers.

He painted painted landscapes and urban environments from his travels around Denmark, and after the 1930s also from travels abroad. In addition to landscape painting, he painted several portraits and figurative works. His brother was artist Jens Sinding Cristensen. He won Sødrings Legat award in 1969. He signed his oils both with both a monogram and initials.

Select exhibitions he showed at included Kunstnernes efteraars udstilling (The Artists’ Autumn Exhibition) in 1924-26 and 1928, Kunstner foreningen in 1941-45 and 1948.

Christensen passed away on 30 October, 1980.
