artist biography
Yngve Andersson, born February 11, 1921 in Gothenburg, was a Swedish painter and illustrator and conservator.
He was the son of the ceramicist Karl Benjamin Andersson and Elin Maria Hagman. Andersson studied for a time at the Valands målarskola, but was mainly self-taught with study trips to Europe and North Africa. Andersson had his debut solo exhibition in Gothenburg in 1948. He painted forest scenes, still lifes and marina and harbour scenes. He worked as a conservator for a number of public institutions.
Andersson is represented in the permanent collection of the Gothenburg Maritime Museum.
He passed away on November 12, 1994 in Västra Frölunda, aged 73.
