artist biography
Hilmer A: son Anderz (Hilmer Gustaf Adolf Andersson), born on June 28, 1916 in Gothenburg, was a Swedish painter and draftsman.
Anderz studied at the Slöjdföreningens skola in Gothenburg and under artist Nils Nilsson at the Valands målarskola from 1937 to 1942. He made his debut in a group exhibition in Gothenburg in 1941 and then had a number of solo exhibitions in Halmstad and Borås. He participated in the National Museum's exhibition ‘Unga tecknare’. Anderz painted in oil and produced charcoal drawings. His favourite subjects were landscapes from the Bohuslän coast. In addition he worked with stained glass and print making.
Anderz passed away aged 84 on November 5, 2000 in Gothenburg.
