artist biography
Ove Persson, born 1925 in Piksborg, Ljungby was a Swedish painter.
Persson became a full time artist in 1960. He was a self taught artist and participated in numerous exhibitions around Sweden including ones in Stockholm, Boden, Falkenberg, Kungälv, Linköping, Halmstad, Umeå and Östersund. Persson’s art depicted everyday scenes with a focus on ones from the Simlångsdalen region and the work around the railway between Bolmen and Halmstad.
Examples of Persson’s work are held in the public collections at Falkenberg Municipality, Halmstad Municipality and Umeå Municipality. A memorial exhibition of Persson's art was held in Steninge 2010.
Persson died in 1999, aged 74.
