artist bio
Leif Sven Roland Persson was born December 12, 1938 in Ryssby. He is a Swedish painter and print maker.
Persson was self-taught as an artist but travelled extensively during the 1960s to study painting abroad which included trips to Italy in 1964, the Danish island of Bornholm in 1965, Greece in 1966, Tunisia in 1967, France in 1968 and Yugoslavia in 1969. He had solo exhibitions at Ålems Konstsalong in 1966 and 1970, and the Kalmar Art Museum in 1967, 1969, 1970 and 1973. Among his public works are murals for the Kalmar Hospital.
He painted southern landscapes and scenes from the mountain world executed in oil and acrylic.
Examples of Persson’s work are held in the public collection of the Kalmar Art Museum.
