artist bio
Stig Kjellin was a Swedish painter born in Borás in 1914.
Kjellin studied at the Tekniska skolan in Stockholm between 1934 and 1936 and took self-study overseas to Switzerland and Spain.
Best known for his coastal and city landscape paintings in oil he exhibited in both solo and group shows. Select exhibitions include a two man show in 1943 at Borås Art Hall in 1943 with Eric Larsson, 'Modern konst i Hemmiljö' (Modern Art in the Home) exhibition at Galerie Moderne in Stockholm in 1944, and shows at Gummesons Art Hall, Malmö City Hall, Borås Art Museum and Lorensberg Art Salon in Gothenburg.
Examples of Kjellin’s work are helda t the Borås Art Association's collection and Borås City Hall.
Kjellin passed away in 1979, aged 65.
