artist biography
Stig Karl Axel Rosell was born February 19, 1928 in Nässjö. He was a Swedish painter and drawing teacher.
Rosell studied at the Konstfackskolan (School of Art) in Stockholm from 1945 to 1949 and at the the Teckningslärarinstitutet (Drawing Teachers' Institute) where he graduated as a drawing teacher. He took private study trips to France, Spain and Italy.
He had a solo exhibition at the Kalmar Art Museum in 1960 and he subsequently exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He painted figures, still lifes and landscapes painted in oil or watercolour.
Examples of Rosell’s are held in public collections ins Sweden including the Kalmar Art Museum.
He passed at the age of 52 on August 24, 1980.
