artist biography
Dan Sterup-Hansen (Danish 1918-1995) - bio to follow

A silent Danish film from 1957 is available for online viewing featuring Sterup-Hansen at Film centralen Danmark på film. It chronicles Sterup-Hansen sketching and studying the environment at Copenhagen Central Station, the processes of the creation of prints in his studio (and a glimpse at a number of his paintings), and the design and installation of his large ceramic relief at Folkets Hus on Enghavevej in Copenhagen. A wonderful time capsule of a day in the life of an artist in mid century Denmark. The last four images here are scenes from the film.
