artist bio
Karl Rudolf Eduard Niemann was born December 18, 1908 in Kiel, Germany. He was a German-Danish artist and draftsman.

Niemann lived and worked in Norrland, Sweden for a period but later moved to Denmark where he became a Danish citizen in 1947.

He exhibited at various galleries in Denmark. In Sweden, he had solo exhibitions at Galleri God Konst in Gothenburg, and a number of galleries in northern Sweden. He had a two person show with with Helge Holmlund in Kiruna in 1958.
Niemann is best known for his cityscape and landscape paintings from Denmark as well as from his travels around Europe and Asia. Examples of his work are held in the collections of the is represented in Strömsunds folkskola, Kiruna municipality collection, and two paintings on the passenger ship Kronprinsessan Margareta.

Niemann passed away in 1982.
