artist biography
John Börén, born June 6, 1903 in Hököpinge, outside of Malmö, was a Swedish artist.
Börén was a self taught artist and conducted independent studies during trips to Italy and France. He regularly exhibited at the Skåne Art Association's exhibitions beginning in 1932 and with the Hörby art association. Börén also exhibited with the group De twelve. He had a number of solo exhibitions in Trelleborg and Malmö.
He painted still life works, interiors and landscapes often with motifs from Skåne working in numerous mediums including oil, tempera, pastel, watercolour and wax crayons. Examples of Börén’s work are held in public collections in Sweden including the Malmö Museum and Southeast Skåne's Museum of Art in Tomelilla.
Börén died in 1983, aged 80.
