artist biography
Valter Bernhard Lindberg was born May 29, 1910 in Kläckeberga, Kalmar. He was a Swedish painter and print maker.
As an artist, Lindberg was predominantly self-taught and began drawing in 1941 through a correspondence course and with some guidance from artist Åke Pettersson-Nåw in Kalmar.
He exhibited in numerous exhibitions including shows at Kalmar Art Museum, Växjö Museum, Karlskrona, Linköping and Kulturen in Lund.
He painted figure compositions and landscapes in oil and watercolours or graphics as well as cityscapes from Kalmar, Karlskrona and England executed as drawings.
Examples of Lindberg’s work are held in public collections including the Moderna Museet n Stockholm, Kalmar art museum, Örebro County Museum, Eskilstuna Art Museum, Norrköping Art Museum, Gustav VI Adolf's collection and the Växjö Museum.
He passed away in 1965 in Kalmar.
