artist biography
Sven Lars Harry Frödin was born 14 November, 1921 in Karlstad. He was a Swedish artist and art teacher.

Frödin studied at the Högre konstindustriella skolan (Higher School of Industrial Arts) in Stockholm from 1945 to 1948 and then worked as a drawing teacher at the Kommunala flickskolan in Karlstad.

Frödin exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions through his career. His early showings included work in the exhibition Unga tecknare (Young Artists) at the National Museum in Stockholm in 1947 and 1946. He exhibited with ceramicist Harry Sandberg and artist Lasse Sandberg at the Värmland Museum in 1952. From 1948, he participated in the exhibitions curated by the Värmland Art Association and he participated in the exhibition Ung värmländsk konst (Young Värmland Art of Today) at the Värmland Museum in 1952.

Frödin is represented numerous public collections including works at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Värmland Museum, the National Museum in Stockholm, the Swedish Art Council, and the Norrköping Art Museum.

He passed away on March 19, 2003 in Grava.
