artist biography
Eric Sigfrid Persson was born 7 September 1906 in Malmö. He was a Swedish artist and illustrator.
Persson studied at the Skåne Painting School in Malmö in 1942 and under Sigurd Wandel at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He took private study trips to France, Belgium and Italy. He exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. He had shows at the Svartbrödraklostret in Lund in 1947 and at Malmö Town Hall in 1950. He participated in group exhibitions with a number of art associations including the Skånes konstförening, Östgöta konstförening and Helsingborgs konstförening.
Person painted figurative works, folk scene and landscape works in watercolour, pastel or oil. As an illustrator he produced work for the newspaper in Skånska Dagbladet.
He passed away in Möllevångens at the age of 74 on 11 January, 1981.
