artist biography
Georg Sigurd Lodström was born January 21, 1915 in Stockholm. He was a Swedish painter.

Lodström studied at the Tekniska skolan in Stockholm in 1937-1938 and during short courses at Edvin Oller’s målarskola  painting school in 1940 and at the Académie Ranson in Paris in 1953. He took private study trips to Denmark, Norway, France and Spain. 

As a scholarship holder, he exhibited at Thurestam's art gallery and he subsequently had several solo exhibitions plus shows alongside his wife Mona Lodström. He participated in Liljevalch's Bumerangen (Boomerang) and Vårsalonger (Spring Salons), Samt Samlingsutställningar in Gotheborg,and as well as group exhibitions in Gothenburg, Borås, Jönköping and Sundsvall.He painted cityscapes, landscapes, still lifes, model studies, portraits (among others of Maria Schildknecht ) in oil or watercolour.

He is represented in public collections including the Stockholm City Museum and the Västerås Art Museum.

Lodström passed away in Stockholm on September 13, 1972.
