artist biography
Carl-Gustaf 'Kåge' Nordin was born born March 27, 1915 in Örnsköldsvik. He was a Swedish painter , draftsman, graphic artist and drawing teacher.
Nordin studied at Konstfackskolan and with Otte Sköld. He took private study trips to France, Spain, and North Africa. He exhibited widely in Sweden, including at De Ungas Salon and the Nationalmuseum’s Young Artists exhibition (1950).
Originally working in a naturalistic style inspired by the Norrland landscape, Nordin’s art evolved into a more abstract and constructive expression of nature. Alongside his artistic career, he taught drawing in Luleå and painted portraits of prominent Swedish figures. He also authored Charles Portin: Life and Art (1979).
He passed away on December 15 , 2002 in Skön, Sundsvall.
