artist biography
Inger Birgitta Liljebladh was born 11 November 1924 in Gothenburg. She was a Swedish painter and print maker.

Liljebladh studied at the Slöjdföreningens skola (School of the Crafts Association) and the Konstakademin (Academy of Fine Arts) in Stockholm. After graduating she took several study tours to France, Italy, England and Yugoslavia. She initially made her exhibition debut as a print maker. In 1954 she got her public break-through with her own exhibition at Galleri Gummesons in Stockholm. After this exhibition she moved galleries to Färg & Form, where she stayed until they closed in the beginning of the 21st century. As a painter, Liljebladh is best represented  for eruptive expressionism with highly motivated colour in the works. She painted landscapes, flowers and faces related to the Swedish West Coast colourist tradition.

The same year Liljebladh was elected as a member of the Konstakademin.
