artist biography
Ralph Lundquist is a Swedish painter, graphic artist and sculpture born in 1931 in Gothenburg.

Lundquist studied at Slöjdföreningen from 1948 to 1951 and at the Fine Arts in Gothenburg 1951-1955. He worked as an aide to Swedish modernist Nils Wedel between 1951 and 1952 and executed a ceiling mural of the Water Authority's control room in Alelyckan, Gothenburg.

He has exhibited extensively during his career. Select shows include solo exhibitions at Borås Art Museum in 1962, Stockholm in 1964 and Gothenburg in 1965. Group shows include ’20 West Swedish Artists’ in Lübeck in 1955, Kunstnerenes hus in Oslo in 1952, and ‘Aspects of Young Swedish Painting’ at Galerie Casques Massol, Paris in 1962.

He has a numerous public art pieces around Sweden including installations in Gothenburg, Nordstan, Queen Silvia's children's clinic in Eastern Hospital, concrete sculpture in Sisjön, bronze sculpture in Kållered. Vänersborg..

Lundquist is represented at Moderna Museet, Gothenburg Art Museum, Norrköping Art Museum and Borås Art Museum.
