artist bio
Sigvard Börtz was born February 22, 1904 in Norra Mellby, Skåne. He was a Swedish artist.
Börtz studied art under Carl Wilhelmson, He studied print making as well as painting at the Stockholm Academy of the Arts. He took private study trips to the Baltics, the Netherlands, Russia and France.
He had solo exhibitions in numerous Swedish cities including Vadstena, Linköping, Hässleholm and Helsingborg. He participated in group exhibitions with Östgöta konstförening and the Helsingborgs konstförening. Börtz painted portraits, still lifes and naturalistic landscape paintings.
Examples of his work are held in the public collections of the Kristianstad Museum and Linköping Art Museum.
He passed away in 1998 in Båstad.
