Ove Gerhard Dahlstrand was born March 14, 1929 in Gothenburg. He was a Swedish artist and illustrator.
Dahlstrand studied at the Konstakademien (Royal Academy of Fine Arts) in Stockholm from 1953 to 1959 and during study trips to France and Holland.
He exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions including shows at Gröna Paletten, Svenska Bilder, Konstakademien and Galleri Öst.
Best known for his paintings in oil of nature scenes often an abstract style, with lush greens a standout element in some works. He also worked as an illustrator for various Swedish newspapers and Obs! - a Swedish cultural magazine founded by Arvid Fredborg and Gunnar Unger in 1944 which ran until 1955.
Examples of Dahlstrand’s work are held in public collections including the Moderena Museet (Museum of Modern Art) in Stockholm, Växjö Museum, Sundsvalls Museum, and Småland Museum.

Dahlstrand passed away in 2007 at the age of 77.
