artist biography
Erik Leonard Emanuelsson was born 19 August, 1914 in Hishult, Halland. He was a Swedish artist.
Emanuelsson studied at the Konstgillets painting school in Borås. He lived in France from 1946 to 1948 and studied with Othon Friesz, André Plason and Pierre Jérôme at the Académie Julian. He debuted with an exhibition at the Konstgalleriet in Borås in 1949 and subsequently participated in a large number of group exhibitions. He is best known for still lifes, abstracts, model studies, portraits, cityscapes and landscapes.
