artist biography
Bo Marcus Lassen was born 1919 in Uppsala. He was a Swedish artist and illustrator.
Lassen painted predominantly in gouache, but did also work with oil, varnish and enamel. He exhibited in solo shows and group exhibitions. He has also been awarded the Statens Konstnärsstipendium (State Artist's Scholarship) and the Stockholms kulturstipendium (Stockholm Cultural Scholarship).
In addition to fine art painting, Lassen’s work as an illustrator includes over 50 book covers including the popular Bonniers Kokbok (Bonnier’s Cookbook) in 1960. He also produced some public art including the exterior and interior of the Televerket skyscraper, and a number of subway stations in Stockholm.
He passed away in 1993.
