Harald Arthur Markson was born October 5, 1909 in Uppsala. He was a Swedish painter and print maker.

He was the son of Isak Markson and Anna Silfer and in 1955 married Märta Wennerstam. After completing his bachelor's degree in 1928, he studied architecture for two years at the Tekniska högskolan (Institute of Technology) in Stockholm and art for short time at Otte Sköld's painting school, but was mainly self taught as an artist . He took private self study trips to numerous European cities including Norway in 1934 and 1939, Denmark in 1939 and 1954, England in 1947, France in 1947, 1949 and 1953, Italy in 1949 and 1951 and Holland in 1955.

Markson made his solo debut in 1947 with an exhibition at Modern Konst i Hemmiljö (Modern Art in a Home Environment), and in Uppsala 1947, 1954, 1956 and 1960, and in Karlskrona in 1954.
Alongside Torsten Bergmark , Gustaf Fängström and Carl Herman Wetterwik he exhibited at Östgöta nation in Uppsala in 1949. He participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout his career, regularly exhibition at Gummesons konsthall, Uplands Art Association, and Sveriges allmänna konstförening (Sweden's general art association).

He painted figurative works, city scenes, landscapes and still life works in oil. As a print maker he produced linocut editions.

Examples of Markson’s work are held in public collections including Uplands Uplands konstförenings (Art Association) and Folkskoleseminariet in Uppsala.

Markson passed away in 1985.
