artist biography
Eve Louis Eriksson born October 1, 1910 in Löderup was a Swedish artist.

Eriksson studied art in Lund from 1929-1930, in Copenhagen from 1933-1934, and at Henrik Blomberg's Målarskola (painting school) in Stockholm from 1934-1935. He undertook additional studies in Copenhagen and Paris in 1937.

He had his debut solo exhibition in 1940 at De Ungas Salong (the Young Salon) in Stockholm and a solo exhibition at Galleri Gummesons in 1943. Eriksson exhibitied at the 'Stockholm Salons' (Stockholmssalongerna) held at Liljevalchs konsthall in 1948 and number of times there subsequently. Select other exhibitions include one in Finland in 1950, and at galleries in Gothenburg, Linköping, Sollefteå, Kristianstad and Ystad. He was a member of the artist group ‘De unga’ (The Young) from 1947.

He is best known for his portraits and landscape paintings from the south coast of Skåne and Norrland. The Lunds Konsthall held a retrospective of his work in 1991. A memorial exhibition with his art was displayed at Kristianstad Art Gallery in 2010 celebrating the centenary of his birth.

Eriksson is represented in public collections in Sweden including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Malmö Museum and Muséet i Eskilstuna (Eskilstuna Museum).

Eriksson passed away in 1992.
