artist biography
Jan Forsberg is a Swedish visual artist and graphic artist, born 1932 in Stockholm.
He studied at Signe Barth Painting School and the Royal Academy in Stockholm, as well as its graphic school. Early work from Forsberg experimented with new graphic expressions, incorporating with fragments of poster texts.
Forsberg has had solo exhibitions in Sweden, USA, Yugoslavia, Canada and Denmark.
Public art: Wall painting in the LO school, Åkers Runö and relief for the Swedish Matchmaking Company in Jönköping.
Examples of Forsberg's work are held in the National Museum in Stockholm, the museums in Jönköping Museum, Växjö Museum, Borås Museum, NorrköpingMuseum, Småland's art archive in Värnamo, and in collections in New York and Paris.
