artist biography
Tom Siggardt Fahlroth was born November 6 , 1921 in Falun. He was a Swedish artist.
Fahlroth studied at Edvin Ollers Målarskola (Painting School ) in Stockholm in 1942. He then took a number of private study trips to France Switzerland and Italy. He exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout his career. Select solo exhibitions include ones at Falu konsthall and SDS-hallen in Malmö. He exhibited in numerous group shows including ones hosted by Dalarnas konstförening (Dalarna Art Association). He was one of Falun's colourful artists during the 1950s and 60s, and had his studio on Åsgatan. He worked primarily in oil but also painted works with ink.
Fahlroth is known for his finely toned paintings of interiors and figures as central themes, and landscape works often with solitary trees.
He passed away at the age of 59 in his hometown of Falun on March 20, 1980.
