She took a number of private study trips abroad including trips 1948 to Italy and France, 1949 to England and Holland, 1951 to Spain and Spanish Morocco, 1953 to Austria, Yugoslavia, Turkey and to Greece in 1957 and 1960. She worked as a teacher and as principal at Gerlesborgsskolan for most of her working life. Her husband was the Swedish sculptor and art professor Asmund Arle (1918-1990).

In 1952 she was awarded the newspaper Frihets scholarship, and in 1954 the Nordic Association's art scholarship. Select solo exhibitions include Sandviken in 1950 and 1958, Örebro in 1952, Bengtsfors in 1952 and 1958, Åmål in1955, Åsele and Stockholm (Lilla galleriet) in 1957, Limhamn in 1959 and Uppsala in 1960. She created a number of mosaic works in Ravenna. Writing about her work in 1961 Olsson stated 'It is the small, simple things in life that I feel for and it is the experience of them that I try to express in colour’.
She was a member of the Svenska konstnärinnor Association, Konstnärernas riksorganisation and Swedish Artists’ Union.

Olsson Arle is represented in the collections of the National Museum in Stockholm, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Norrköping Art Museum and the Kalmar Art Museum.
