artist biography
Albert Sigfrid Krüger, born on November 1, 1885 in Östraby Township, Skåne was a Swedish painter.
Krüger studied at the Tekniska aftonskolan in Malmö from 1903 to 1904, and then in 1905 at the Tekniska skolan and Althins målarskola in Stockholm.
He was head of the Skåne Konstförening (Art Group) from 1943-1951 and belonged to the Aura konstnärsgruppen (Art Association) in Lund.
Krüger began his artist's career as a naivist, but turned into a landscape painter with a strong colouristic traits and as well as street motifs and snowy winter scenes.
His works are represented in numerous public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kristianstad Museum, Malmö Museum, Tomelilla Art Collection, Ystad Art Museum, Österlen Museum in Simrishamn and the Landskrona Museum.
Krüger passed away on June 8, 1965 in Malmö, aged 80.
