artist biography
Kerstin Maria (Maja) Fjæstad (née Hallén) was born 30 May, 1873 in Hörby, Skåne. She was a Swedish painter, print maker and textile artist.
Examples of her work are held in public collections in Sweden including the National Museum in Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Museum, Karlstad Museum, Malmö Museum, and Norrköping Museum, and in the United Kingdom at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum.
Fjæstad passed away at the age of 88 on 15 November, 1961.
