Sven Richard Johansson was a Swedish painter born on November 16, 1911 in Halmstad.
Johnasson studied fine art and began painting in 1931 and received education from noted Swedish artist Waldemar Lorentzon (1899-1984) in 1933 and 1934.
From 1946 Johansson has devoted himself entirely to his art. In 1954 he conducted painting study trips to France and Holland.
Johansson exhibited at solo shows in Halmstad between 1946-1949, and in 1953 alongside fellow Swedes A. Jonson, T. Olsson and O. Lisper.
He regularly participated in the Halland Art Association's annual exhibitions of local artists artists from 1951.
Johansson’s subject matter included landscape, still life and figures in oil and gouache, with a strong influence of Modern French Cubism and a simplified colour palette.
Johansson passed away in 1986 at age 75.
